March is when the rains fade and the hills are at their most lush, and when the hyrax on the kopjes give birth, which matters to every eagle and leopard in the park.

Hyrax season
Both rock hyrax and yellow-spotted hyrax give birth in a short window in March and April, according to a 1998 study of the park's populations. Hyrax make up almost all of the black eagles' diet and a large share of the leopards', so this is a busy time on the rocks.

Roads dry out through the month. Rock art sites and World's View are open as usual.
