Matobo National Park entry fees
Two separate fees. ZimParks charges the park entry fee, which includes VAT and is set in US dollars; Zimbabwe residents may pay in local currency at the prevailing rate. World's View and the painted caves are national monuments with their own NMMZ ticket on top. Bring US dollars in small notes for both.
If you only want the answer
An international visitor pays ZimParks $18 per person per day to drive in, or $10 a day if sleeping inside the park, plus $10 a day for a foreign-registered car ($3 if staying inside). World's View and the painted caves are extra: a $10 ticket from National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe. ZimParks rates are from the February 2026 tariff and include VAT. Bring US dollars in cash.

Why ZimParks' own Matobo sheet shows lower prices
ZimParks' website still carries a Matobo-only fee sheet uploaded in October 2025. It shows the 2025 rates: $15 a day for an international day visitor, $8 staying inside, and $10 for camping. Those figures were replaced by the February 2026 tariff, which is the document quoted on this page.
If a gate officer quotes you the older figure, that is good news for you. Budget on the 2026 rates.

This is not a ZimParks fee and it comes on top of the park entry fee. NMMZ does not publish what the ticket covers. Visitor reports and Wikivoyage say one ticket covers World's View and the main painted caves; treat that as reported rather than confirmed.

Fees are the one thing park authorities change without telling anyone, and some of them publish nothing at all.
Ask us. We answer questions about the park itself, and we can usually tell you which camps work on one route and who to write to. If what you want is a trip someone else arranges, we will say so and hand you to an operator we know, and we earn a commission if that becomes a booking.
